Background
Dallas College is a multi-campus community college district that serves Dallas County, Texas. In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the college had to cancel its traditional graduation ceremonies, leaving almost 10,000 students unable to celebrate this important milestone in person. In an effort to still honor these students and provide them with a memorable experience, the college reached out to Big Hit Creative for help in creating and mailing out graduation SWAG boxes.
Strategy
Big Hit Creative worked closely with Dallas College to develop a strategy for the graduation SWAG boxes. We wanted to create a unique and personalized experience for each graduate, while also keeping in mind the logistical challenges of mailing out nearly 10,000 boxes. We decided to include a range of branded items such as t-shirts, socks, certificates, diplomas, and other memorable keepsakes that would make the graduates feel special and recognized.
To make the process more efficient, we developed a kitting and mailing plan that allowed us to pack and ship the boxes in batches, ensuring that they were delivered in a timely manner. We also provided Dallas College with a tracking system that allowed them to monitor the delivery of each box and handle any issues that arose.
Results
The graduation SWAG boxes were a huge success and were well received by the graduates. They provided a tangible reminder of their accomplishment and gave them a sense of closure to an otherwise difficult year. The boxes also served as a way to connect with the students and show them that their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed.
Overall, the project was a great example of how Big Hit Creative can work with educational institutions to provide unique and personalized experiences for their students. We were proud to have played a part in celebrating the achievements of so many deserving graduates.
